High Chlorinated Polyethylene (HCPE resin)

"SURGUT" is our registered trademark for Highly Chlorinated Polyethylene (HCPE).

SURGUT HCPE is a highly chlorinated polymer with a chlorine content of 65%-69%. It is a transparent, hard and brittle thermoplastic resin. HCPE has high chemical stability, good salt resistance and UV resistance. It is easily soluble in organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene and ester solvents, forming a colorless or pale-yellow transparent solution. When this solution is applied to surfaces of metal, concrete, paper, etc., the solvent evaporates easily at room temperature to form a transparent, hard and glossy glass-like film. The film resists the penetration of moisture and oxygen gas and is highly resistant to various chemicals such as acids and alkalis. It both protects the substrate from corrosion and acts as a decorative topcoat.

Newly invented hydrochloric acid phase technology enables SURGUT HCPE Series products to be manufactured without using organic solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, without damaging the ozone layer, and without harming the health of users.

Performance and applications

SURGUT HCPE can be used as an ingredient in gravure inks, binders for heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings, waterproof coatings and adhesives. In particular, its high corrosion protection performance is suitable for ships, docks, container coatings and other industries. It can also be used in chemical plants, oilfield pipelines, offshore facilities, marine coatings, metallurgy, mining, salt industries, fishing areas, waste disposal, transportation facilities, containers, electrical equipment, etc.   High molecular weight models, such as HE-AD 60 and HE-AD 120, have been specially developed for various adhesives for PVC pipes, pipe fittings and sheets.
